We’re currently running a reduced programme but will continue to update as circumstances change.

Current Projects from January 2021

Movin’ Makers (P1 – P4)

  • Digital Class (Session 1) starting Tuesday 19th January 2021 at 4:30pm – 5:15pm

Digital 45 Minute Movers (P1 – P4)

Places still available – for residents of Barmulloch / Balornock only

This is a digital class only, starting Thursday 21 January 2021 from 5:00pm – 5:45pm

Toonie Makers (P5 – P7)

Digital Classes starting Tuesday 19th January 2021 at 4:45pm – 6:00pm

Theatre Makers (S1 – S3)

Places still available – please contact us for more information. We can offer a 1-2-1 before joining if you’d like to meet the tutors or find out more. As this group are working towards a performance, the last date to join is Wednesday 3 February 2021.

  • Digital Class starting Wednesday 20th January 2021 at 6:00pm – 7:30pm

If and when restrictions allow, this class will return to face to face delivery in BCDC.

This group are working towards the creation of a digital performance as part of the National Festival, ‘Positive Stories for Negative Times’.

Please note that participation in the project requires a commitment to all 9 weeks of the term.  Places must be confirmed prior to starting on Wednesday 20 January 2021.

As this is a performance based project, participants must attend from the first date of term.

Scripts will be emailed out in advance along with further information about the performance – which will be filmed on the final week of the term to be uploaded and shared on the Festival website.

Limited to a maximum of 12 participants.

 

Word of Mouth (S4 onwards) 

Taster Session : Wednesday 3 February 2021 6.00pm – 7.30pm

Meet the tutors and the current writers – come along and try. An opportunity to get creative and ask any questions. 

Classes commence Wednesday 17 February 2021 – Wednesday 24 March 2021

Word of Mouth online workshops will work towards skill sharing, building empowerment and confidence in the area of performance poetry and spoken word, more specifically focusing on digital shorts and online performance.

Each participant will be given their own platform to express and create words and themes that are meaningful to them. Each participant will create, redraft and rehearsed their own unique piece of work to be performed live. 

Digital Online Performance : Wednesday 31 March 2021 

Theatre Makers + (S4 onwards)

  • Digital Class starting Thursday 14th January 2021 at 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Creative Calm

Places still available

  • Age : Open to all participants from Primary 7 onwards
  • Day : Monday – Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday (depending on availability)
  • Time : Flexible

Creative, informal check-ins on a weekly basis at a time agreed in advance between the participant and tutor. Originally developed to help with the strain of lockdown, these sessions use drama, music or art to allow you to find your own calm and creativity. All Creative Calm sessions will run digitally for the foreseeable future.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT FURTHER CHANGES TO RESTRICTIONS / GUIDANCE AND/OR INTERNAL FACTORS MAY RESULT IN CANCELLATION OR ADDITIONAL CHANGES TO THESE WORKSHOPS DURING THE TERM. WE WILL KEEP YOU FULLY INFORMED.

Please note that participation in any online workshops can only be confirmed if we are in receipt of a fully completed digital consent form.
