Arts Award allows you to enjoy the arts, develop your artistic and leadership skills AND gain nationally recognised qualifications. Toonspeak’s trained Arts Award Advisers and a range of specialist artists support you to explore what inspires you at your own pace. Whatever level you’re at – there’s an Arts Award for you!
In our Bronze group course, you’ll take part in arts activities, go to events, find out about inspiring artists and share your own arts skills with others. You’ll create a cool blog to share with the world all your videos, pictures, scribbles, thoughts and reviews, showing all the work you’ve put in while having some seriously good fun. The next Bronze course begins this September. Contact us to register your interest for the next course.
Another way you can pick up these qualifications is by taking part in other Toonspeak projects. In fact, anything arts-related that you do can count towards an Arts Award if you keep a record of it. Just let us know if you want us to advise and assess you.
Toonspeak is an Arts Award Supporter centre and you can also join our projects to make up part of an Award you are doing with another centre.
If you’re thinking of going for your Silver or Gold Arts Award, talk to us about one-to-one mentoring and training for leadership. Arts Award is accredited by Trinity College London – a Gold Award is 35 UCAS points for those applying to university.
Here’s how the Awards compare to Scottish Qualifications:
Explore – Level 3 (Access 3, Foundation Standard Grade, National Progression Awards, National Certificates)
Bronze – Level 4 (Intermediate 1, General Standard Grade, SVQ 1, National Progression Awards, National Certificates)
Silver – Level 5 (Intermediate 2, Credit Standard Grade, SVQ 2, NPA’s, NC’s)
Gold – Level 6 (Highers, SVQ 3, Professional Development Awards, NPA’s NC’s).
