One of Toonspeak’s main programmes Shine has lots of opportunities to get involved this term.

Funded by Comic Relief it is a really nurturing course for young people to focus on their self confidence, build self esteem, think about things they would like to achieve, make new friends and have fun doing so.

We have seen young people go through Shine and use it in lots of different areas of their life, whether that has been to finally have the confidence to sign up for College, or go for a job, all the way to starring in our recent sell out show at the Tron Theatre, ‘Ma Bit’.

Each Shine course is different as it is up to the participants who come along to decide which direction they want to take it in.

Over the next few months we have a few programmes happening and we would love for you to sign up:

  • Shine Central and West Integration Network for refugees and asylum seekers aged 14+
  • Shine YCSA for young people based in the South Side at risk of social exclusion
  • Shine for ages 11-13 open to young people from across Glasgow
  • Shine for ages 14+ open to young people from across Glasgow
  • Shine LGBT for young people who identify as LGBT from across Glasgow

All of our workshops are FREE and we can provide transport. Below is a breakdown of where each workshop takes place and at what times. To sign up call (0141) 552 0234 or contact Programme Producer Paula Morgan direct paula@toonspeak.co.uk
