September 2013

The Beach family from the Island of Eursigh decided to take a holiday to Pollokshaws. They wanted to share their creativity and passion for the arts and make new friends with locals in the community. After they set up their tent trailer in the square and popped up their yurt in the library, the Beach family were ready to holiday.

“We are the Beach family from Eursigh.
The sea is part of our soul.
We’re on holiday, a city break, bringing the sea with us.
We’re tellers of tales, singers of songs, makers of things, eccentric folk.”

For a week, the Beaches invited passersby to stand on the shores of the shaws and let their imagination sail free. With the help of new friends they created wonderful songs, intriguing shadow puppet theatre, boisterous drum sessions, high energy dances, and beautiful artwork.

Share the holiday on the Beach’s blog (where you can hear the famous Ode to the Shaws) and through the holiday pictures below.
