Creative Collision is a Glasgow-wide youth arts collective for sharing creative ideas, meeting new people, and building a strong and supportive network for young artists. This is run by the wonderful team at Glasgow Youth Arts Hub.

This will be the first Creative Collision event since last March/ April. When the group gathered to discuss hosting a new event, I offered my time to mentor them. Managing events is a real passion of mine, so I embraced the opportunity. They are also fabulous to work with, and the new direction they want the collective to move in is really exciting.

Creative Collision was originally an adult free space for young people to share their talents with one another, forming a collective. Now they are looking to utilise events as a pathway to progression.

For those of us who work in the Arts, we have all felt at times frustrated not knowing where the next opportunity will come along, struggled to know where to look for said opportunities, suffered financial difficulty even. These young people would like to create a space where they can chat with people who are ahead of them on this journey and make links.

We talked through different ideas, various performances, networking and how awkward this can be, alternative ways of hosting conversations, new ideas, and presentations in the style of Pecha Kucha. So, the event looks as follows with more to be confirmed.

Monday December 12th 7pm – 10pm Drygate (85 Drygate, Glasgow, G4 0UT)

Pecha Kucha by Drew Taylor-Wilson & Patricia Panther

Talk by Matthew of Sensatronic Lab (Sense Scotland). This is a real treat, he is amazing, love hearing what he has to say and learning about his passion for music.

Performance by The Miscellaneous Collective

Exhibition featuring 5 artists from Glasgow and Edinburgh

Performance by new talent Russell Stewart

With a few more announcements over the coming days.
